Portland Wrestling Program - June 1, 1992 - Don Owen Retires! + Poster and Newspaper Clippings
On May 30, in front of a very small crowd at the Portland Sports Arena,
Don Owen announces his retirement from professional wrestling. The end of an era!
Barry Owen will not take over for Don, but instead, the company is sold to Sandy Barr. Sandy
changes the name to Championship Wrestling USA and runs his first show at the Sports
Arena on Monday, June 1, 1992.
Steve Doll & Brickhouse Brown are named the tag champions, but I believe that
The Grappler and Steve Doll are the actual champions, and maybe Brickhouse stepped
in for the Grappler. As far as I know, Steve Doll & The Grappler were the final tag champions
of Portland Wrestling.
Thanks to Curtis, @RetroGamingHippie3720 on YouTube, for sharing
this awesome program!

Promo Poster - Monday, June 1, 1992 - TV Taping at the Portland Sports Arena
A great item from the Curtis collection!
This poster raises some questions. As far as I know, Steve Doll & The Grappler were
the final Portland Wrestling tag team champs in May of 1992 when Don Owen retired.
I can't find any records of other tag champs before 1993 for Championship Wrestling USA.
Who are the champs here?

This Week In Portland Wrestling History - 3/13/1992 Eugene Card Clipping
From the Eugene Register Guard, March 13, 1992.
Friday nights in Eugene were a staple in Portland Wrestling.
I hear that the dressing room was so small that only 2 guys could change
at one time, and everyone else would have to sit in folding chairs in the hallway.
Portland Wrestling Poster - Hillsboro Armory, Thursday, January 17, 1991 - Tag Team Championship On The Line!

Northwest Wrestling Bulletin - First Issue - October 1983
Fun insights into Portland Wrestling in 1983.
I love the mini feature on Miss Irene Dial, also known as Ringside Rosie.
This is from the collection of Retro Gaming Hippie. Check out his awesome YouTube
channel about his fun, nostalgic 80's and wrestling finds. Thanks to him for trusting me
with some great finds! If you have some photos, programs, or other fun Northwest
Wrestling memorabilia to share, email me sunyday76@aol.com.
This is the Northwest Wrestling Bulletin. I'm not sure how many of these were
made, but it is an amazing piece of Northwest Wrestling history.
This will be included on the Wrestle-Media page.
Check out those too!
