Portland Wrestling Parking $1 Ticket - 3/3/90

I recently posted this ticket on the Fans of Portland Wrestling Facebook group.

I didn't remember them charging for parking.  One of the members of the 

group let us know that the main parking lot was free, but the overflow parking at the Flea

Market building charged $1 to park.  It's interesting that Sandy Barr charged for parking and

Don Owen didn't.  He was well known for pinching every penny!

Weekly World News Article about Col. DeBeers - September 11, 1990

Do you remember the tabloid called "Weekly World News"? They were known for their outlandish stories about Elvis sightings, the Bat Boy, Bigfoot, and other such nonsense. I loved it! In the early 90s, they started including wrestling articles. This one is from September 11, 1990. See also the letter about Buddy Rose and his weight issues.

The date on the back may say 1989, but this is definitely 1990.

The Southern Rockers are absent, as they are off in the USWA.

The Southern Rockers Music Video From USWA

 

On January 27, 1990, The Southern Rockers left the Pacific Northwest for a "World Tour". They actually went to the USWA in Memphis, Tennessee. They returned in March for one night only. Steve & Rex won the tag team titles twice in the USWA. Steve Doll returned without Rex King on June 9, 1990. This video is from their time in Memphis. Equalizer had several promotional posters on display at the Portland Wrestling Expo. I bet this was an amazing show!! I wish I had gone to more of the towns. Those were always fun shows, and a totally different vibe than being at the Sports Arena. Did you go to shows in the towns?
