More Scott Peterson ....

Scott and I in 1989.
Scott was quiet, kind, and funny. He and Steve were great partners
and such a dynamic tag team. There's a Saturday night in June of 1990
when Steve Doll wrestled Moondog Morreti. He was always up and boisterous,
but this night he was extra
excited, just having the most fun, and he seemed almost giddy. After the
match, he does an interview, teasing that Scott may come back for one
night. He's just so excited that his best friend will return to wrestle with
him again. It's really sweet. They were so great in the ring and had such great
chemistry because they were such good friends outside the ring.
This is one of my favorite pictures of them from
Feb. 16, 1988.

Here I Am With The Southern Rockers! 1990 Tillamook Armory. Scott Peterson Returns For One Week.

This photo is from when Scott Peterson returned to
Portland for one week in 1990.  It was great to see him again!
This is taken at the Tillamook Armory.  I had to see them wrestle together
again at least a couple of times.

Get A Picture of The Grappler's Face Win A Date With The Southern Rockers!

In 1989, KGON radio did a promotion with one of their DJs, Bill Prescott.  Bill and the
Southern Rockers announced a contest.  If you could get a photo of the Grappler without his
mask on, you could win a date with Steve Doll & Scott Peterson to ride in a Limo and go
see Bon Jovi in concert.  Oh boy, did I try!  Keep in mind that I was 13, so what I could do was
limited.  I did convince my mom to follow him home a few Saturday nights, but he didn't go home.
He went directly to the club, as many wrestlers did on Saturday nights.  They often went to the
Cattle Company on McLoughlin in Milwaukie.  Of course, we couldn't follow him in there, but my mom followed him in one night and he never took off the mask!! DAMMIT!!

At the Portland Wrestling Expo in February,
I asked him about the gimmick, and he said that it was Roddy
Piper's idea and that it really got out of hand.  People would follow him when his family was in the car and come up to his house and take pictures in the windows to try and get him.  I don't think
they really thought that whole thing through!

Another girl named Jody won the contest.  Ugh!
I wanted to win so bad!!
I did go to the concert, but not with Steve Doll. 🤪

Johnny Ace Autograph 1988 OWF

In 1988 Johnny Ace came to Oregon to compete in Billy Jack Haynes
Oregon Wrestling Federation (OWF).  He was here for a very short time,
maybe only 2 weeks or so.

This was much too big to fit on my scanner, so I had to improvise and join
the pages together later.  That's why they look a little funny and may have lost
a few words or parts of an image.
