This was our first photo together, December 26, 1987. I got my first camera for Christmas and was super excited to take photos at wrestling. I wasn't planning to get pictures with wrestlers. I was self-conscious, but I wanted to take lots of pictures. I walked up to the autograph table, and Steve asked, "Did Santa treat you right this year?". I held up my arm with my little camera hanging from the wrist strap and said that I'd gotten a camera. He said, "Great! We can finally get a picture!" He got right up from his chair and made his way around the table. This was quite the feat because it was CROWDED. I kept hearing him say, "I'll be right back. Don't worry, I'm coming back. I'll be back in just a minute. " I must have been super nervous and frozen because he took the camera off my wrist, handed it to my sister Tamara, and asked her to take the picture. In those early days, I would sometimes get super nervous to talk to him, and he was always super patient and kind. While we were waiting for her to get back far enough to take the photo in the crowd, he put his arm around me and pulled me in. I looked up at his face, and he saw me looking and just gave me a great big smile and a 🤗 hug. One of my fondest memories of Steve.
