Technically, the Southern Rockers, Steve Doll & Scott Peterson, started tagging on Portland Wrestling TV on July 18, 1987. Steve & Scott won the Pacific Northwest tag titles on 7 occasions. Just over 2 years later, Scott Peterson decided to leave the business, and Rex King joined Steve Doll. They won the Pacific Northwest titles four times. As well as winning the tag titles in the USWA, Music City, and the World Wrestling Council. They even went to the WWF after changing their name to Well Dunn. On Scott's last night as a Southern Rocker, August 19, 1989, they threw a big party at the sold-out Sports Arena and declared that Southern Rockers Live Forever! I just can't let the memory of this great tag team, or these great wrestlers, fade away! So, I've decided that today is Southern Rockers Day! I hope you'll go over to YouTube and watch a Southern Rockers match to celebrate. Hopefully something from the Sports Arena!
This blog is for my memories of Portland Wrestling and yours. The years being a fan were some of the best years of my life!
