Don't Mess With Texas!! Steve Doll photo

The Southern Rockers was a perfect name for two proud sons of Texas. Of course we now know that Scott Peterson was not actually from Texas, but who cares?  My mom's boyfriend was also from Texas and went back to visit in 1988.  He brought me back an official Don't Mess with Texas shirt from the trip.  I wore it to a show at Oregon City High School.  They both saw the shirt when I came to the autograph table and were really excited about it, asked me where I got it, and even what size it was.  Scott suggested that he would trade me his Southern Rockers shirt that he was wearing, the white one with the red letters that he always wore, for it.  Um, yes please!!! Then he decided I should probably ask my mom first. Of course she said yes.  He then decided he would feel guilty to take my gift from someone and changed his mind.  DANG!!! That would have been so awesome to have Scott's actual shirt. I guess they actually owned all of the shirts, but you know what I mean!  I went to a T-shirt shop and had these made for them both.  Not quite the same as the logo shirt, but the best a 12 year old could figure out before the Internet.  They both seemed really excited to get the shirts, but I never actually saw either of them wear them at the Sports Arena.  A pen pal of mine sent me this photo of Steve from an event in Chehalis, WA in 1990. And there was the shirt!
