1986 and early 1987 were lean times for Portland Wrestling, to be honest.
The main event for this show is Mark Young & Art Barr VS Art Crews & Joey Jackson.
I recently heard someone say that things really started to turn around in mid-1987, and
that was attributed to the Grappler. He was a great heel, and when he started booking in '88
things really did turn a corner. But I have some different ideas about what might have kicked
off that change. Steve Doll! He came to the Northwest from World Class in June. Don Owen put him together to team with Scott Peterson in July, and it was on from there.
It did not matter who they were up against; the crowd was CRAZY for the Southern Rockers.
